Abucay, a second class municipality with a population of roughly 44,000 is now attracting investors; among them is the Aidea Incorporated to join the government’s housing program to keep in tune with President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr.’s aim to solve housing backlog.

Last January 15, a group of investors briefed Mayor Robin Tagle on plans to build houses near the designated expansion site of Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in Barangay Gabon. Each housing unit will have an average monthly amortization of P3,500 for 30 years.

A game changer of sort, Tagle said the proposed housing project will be undertaken by Aidea, a global integrated design and technology firm with multidisciplinary practice in over 1,000 projects in 100 cities in 60 countries.

The mayor was informed that one of the incoming investors will engage in the manufacture of automotive spare parts that will generate employment for local residents.

Under the scheme, all of the needed materials for the said projects shall be sourced locally but the quality will be of global standard. Abucay town was chosen as a priority area in Central Luzon, said the investors.
